Money

I set out this morning to calculate the mount of money a scrapper could make in a day. I had a hard time with some of the estimation, but this is what I found. (check my post on HOW to start making this much if you're just starting out)
Working full time, morning and afternoon (and sorting things mid-day) I estimate that in my area, I could make at least $200 in 2 days. I hope I could make up to $400 in 2 days if I worked extremely hard. The more experience, skill, and networking that one exhibits would effect this number greatly. This means that in one week, one would make at least  $700 and up to $1400! $1400 in one week is definitely pushing it, but I think $700 per week is very reasonable. So lets say I was able to exhibit some good networking, and demonstrated a decent ability, maybe making $825 per week. That means I could make up to $45,655 annually.
I feel like I'm trying to sell some type of ponzi scheme. I don't even believe those numbers. But that explains to a lot of you why there is so much competition in the scrapping industry. According to the US census, in 2003 the median salary in the united states is a little under $43,000.  That means you can make more money by just scrapping then an average american. And no taxes come out of your pay check!
